Black Power Live, the event
Black Power Live, broadcast on the 27th of June on the BehindTheRhyme Twitch channel, is a streaming event hosted by Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement, “a celebration of the incredible work done by organisers and activists around the world, a chance to reflect, regroup and talk about next steps”. The line-up features Terrace Martin, Doja Cat and The Brandon Brown Collective. Viewers are required to subscribe to access all the performances, with proceeds going to charities such as Crenshaw Dairy Mart, Trap Heals, Transgender Law Center, Sankofa and Black Men Build. However, rap-punk duo H09909’s performance with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is available for free on their YouTube channel.
