Rosy Battaglia

I put passion in everything I do and am constantly searching for the best way to keep doing one of the most beautiful jobs in the world. I’ve always fought for the right to know and inform. Social issues, protecting the environment and health, as well as respecting the law and justice are the pillars of my work. I’ve lived many lives. Today I’m an investigative journalist, but also a civic one: conscious of the fact that behind data and facts there are always people. I have a son and a dog. I like travelling, but also enjoy social networking. I love walking, being in nature, music, poetry and theatre.

I’m the creator of Cittadini Reattivi (Reactive Citizens), a crowdsourced journalism project on health, the environment and legality. We received a prize from Ahref Foundation in 2013. I’m a FOIA activist and my investigations have been published in Valori, Donna Moderna, Wired Italia, Nòva, Il Sole 24 Ore and La Nuova Ecologia. I’ve been a DIG awards finalist twice, and won the Premio Eternot 2018, Pioniere del Futuro 2017, Premio al Giornalismo d’Inchiesta – Gruppo dello Zuccherificio 2016 and Reporter per la Terra 2015.

FAVOURITE QUOTE

“Things being as they are doesn’t mean this is how they must go on. But, when it comes to rolling up our sleeves and starting to change things, there’s a price to pay. And it’s then that the vast majority of people prefer to complain, rather than do something” (Giovanni Falcone)
