Claudio Pomo

Columnist

Claudio has been engaged in animal rights since 1992, year in which he became vegetarian. A few years later he veered towards the vegan choice, pioneering at the time, and began being involved on the frontline in a number of causes related to ecology and animals. He is one of the founders of the campaign that brought to the closure of the Stefano Morini and Green Hill laboratory animals breeding centres and worked for a decade in a dog pound, in which he learned a lot about animals’ language.

He lives in the province of Milan and is co-founder and head of campaigns at Essere Animali, organisation created in 2011 to promote a future free of cages or animal exploitation. A future that is possible, even though it a lot of effort will be required to build it.
