It has been one of the most successful pavilions at Expo Milano 2015. A pavilion showcasing a dynamic, young, technologic country. Just a few weeks before the end of the world’s fair, the Asian country presents Expo Astana 2017, the exhibition dedicated to future energy.
From 10 June to 10 September 2017, over 3,000 events will be held in the exposition area, built from scratch on a surface of 147 hectares. In the middle of the fair, the Kazakhstan pavilion will host the world’s largest sphere ever built (80 metres of diameter), and will be surrounded by international pavilions developing different themes.
“To date, 48 countries confirmed their participation,” said Anuarbek Mussin General Commissioner of the Pavilion. “We now we look forward to the forthcoming confirmation of Italy’s participation, declared by Renzi during his official visit”. The world’s fair will be located 2 kilometres from the airport and 5 kilometres from the train station. Moreover, it will welcome delegations in dedicated residential areas.
Among the key concepts dedicated to the challenges to be faced over the next few years there are: energy efficiency, universal access to clean energy, reduction in fossil fuel consumption and CO2 emissions through available advanced technologies. The world’s fair will be a meeting point for companies, institutions and academic world, in the crossroads between Europe and Asia.
“Expo Astana 2017 is a crucial moment for Kazakhstan,” said Anuarbek Mussin. “It will be the first step towards a sustainable future and the country’s energy transition. For this reason, we decided to organise the exhibition”. Energy security will be one of the main topics: “We strongly believe that in 2 years Astana will have the best technologies for producing clean energy and reducing emissions”.
Expo Milano 2015 and Astana are linked by a central theme: sustainability, essential element for the future of society and our planet.
