The number displayed on the counter, measured by the last user and communicated to the supplier (in the case in which the latter provides such service).
Dispacciamento = Dispatching (cost)
Covers dispatching costs, i.e. the service ensuring a constant balance between supply and demand of electricity.
In the provisions that establish or modify protective economic conditions, the technical term employed is provision price. It is established and updated every three months by the Italian Energy Authority.
Servizio di maggior tutela = Most protective service
Electricity is supplied according to the economic and contractual conditions established by the Energy Authority. Private customers or small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs)* are the most highly protected categories if they have never changed supplier or asked to reapply after having established contracts with other suppliers in the free market.
Such conditions are also applied to private customers and SMBs left without an electricity supplier, following its bankruptcy for instance.
* A small business or SMBs is a company with less than 50 employees and an annual turnover not exceeding 10 million euros, powered by low tension current.
Potenza impegnata = Subscribed power
The power level indicated in the contracts and made available by the supplier (it is technically defined as contractual power demand). It is fixed depending on the client's needs when signing the contract, and according to the type (and number) of electrical devices normally employed. For most households, thus for most private customers, subscribed power corresponds to 3 kW.
Potenza disponibile = Available power
Available power is the maximum level of power available, beyond which electricity supply might be interrupted automatically. Customers with up to 30 kW subscribed power have an available power of 10% in excess of their subscribed power level.
Prezzi monorari, biorari e multiorari = Single fares, dual fares and multiple fares
Depending on the supply contract, energy costs can be divided into single fares, dual fares and multiple fares. Single fares imply that the energy cost is the same throughout the day, while in dual fares it is related to two different time slots (TS1 and TS2+TS3). Finally in multiple fares, every time slot has its own fare (TS1+TS2+TS3).
